Boutique Hotel in the center of Amsterdam

Experience Amsterdam to the full, staying in the ambience of a 17th century mansion where old and new design combines the best of both worlds.

Harbour Suites is located in the heart of Amsterdam, only 400 metres walking distance from the Central Station from where it is only 15 min to the Airport. In 1665 this mansion was built right on the old harbour, in the heart of the historical centre. Michiel de Ruyter lived next door, from where he and many others, sailed out to the open sea towards the unknown world. Rembrandt painted his famous "The Anatomy Lesson" just 300 metres from Harbour Suites.

One of our top picks in Amsterdam, Harbour Suites houses a stunning collection of contemporary art, ethnographic objects, antiques and rare sculptures. These have been brought together in an organic way in the recent decades through an enthusiastic collector who wants to share his passion with the visitors of this remarkable mansion.

This 17th century building has been recently restored with great respect for its historical aspects.  The monumental staircase has had a complete makeover; please note that because of the historical nature of the building, it has not been possible to install an elevator. While using the staircase, leading you to the suites, you will be surrounded by many different pieces of art. The layout of the apartments reflects the Dutch open feel. There are open connections between the different spaces. The Italian design  rain-shower, washbasin or bathtub are situated in the bedrooms, leaving out the doors where possible. In this way there is a charming open loft-like character throughout. Naturally, each suite offers a fully equipped kitchen and you will find free high speed WiFi access and a flat-screen smart TV in the bedrooms as well as in the living room. The rooms at the front of the mansion overlook the old “Oosterdok” harbour. A number of apartments have a roof terrace. Some apartments also have a feature gas fireplace.
